I have personally traced our family tree directly to Scotland (my 4x-great grandfather was a Finley and an immigrant). My grandfather’s cousin and his wife are so into genealogy and family heritage that they spent a significant amount of time in Scotland scouring all of the records they could find, and they actually did trace our family line directly back to the real Macbeth.
